• If your cable box has an HDMI output, yes you should be able to connect it.

• Probably not, only because most TVs don't have an HDMI out. More than likely you will need to find an HDMI compliant cable box to tune to the channel you want to watch, and send to the projector. The projector does not have a coax cable connection, nor does it have the ability to tune to a cable channel on it's own.
