• at the very least you can take your product into the store and ask the service desk. best to bring the receipt. you say it's under warranty so I ask if it's the manufacturer warranty or the best buy warranty sold to you at the register. if the latter: take in and you're good for sure

• You may have a short in it, probably at the phone end of the cable. You should take it back and get a new one.

• If it's through geek squad any time I've had a warranty issue I go into the store and they replace on spot.

• It has a year warranty. Get in contact with Moto the maker. It was on the box. Or contact Best Buy.

• Take the cable and receipt into the Best Buy store, to the Geek Squad counter, and they will assist you with the warranty.
