“High pitch noise/how do i turn off the light? Every time I plug the cable into my usb dock before charging my iPhone, there is a constant high pitch noise that occurs when the lights are running and it's really hurting my ears. My boyfriend got the black version and his has no high pitch problems. I had purchased the white and blue cable, but I highly doubt that makes the difference in noise. Is there a way to eliminate the noise and/or turn off the light feature in the cable? If not, then i'll be buying a different one.”

No there isn't. It was designed this way so you could glance at it to see roughly how charged you phone is. The faster the light moves the lower your battery power is. Once the lights start moving slowly you phone is almost fully charged.

Have you tested both of your cables on the same brick to ensure it's not a problem with the brick? If the transformer inside is going bad, it's going to make a high pitched noise, and makes the noise when pulling the current. I have the same problem with one of my adapters for a baby monitor. If you indeed rule out the charger, I would definitely try another cable, as I had one that went bad, but my second one is great!
