Yes, it is bright, but not annoyingly so. It has an uplifting sort-of quality to it. Now, all of this is said assuming that you kinda like purple/light plum to begin with. The beauty of this bag is that not only can it carry a laptop or tablet with dimensions up to 15.6", it also can carry your hot or cold lunch in its thermal pocket, your wallet in its inner pocket, and a change of shoes -- if you're like me and walk to work in your "tennies" or flip-flops and change into your business shoes once you arrive at your workplace. It's lightweight; it has a key fob; and it has a snap buckle on the strap that keeps the straps together so that they're not flopping apart. It wipes clean with a damp cloth. Overall, a GREAT bag for the price and the features!
