I would not recommend that the antenna be set up in the basement. It works better, the higher up and away from concrete walls and ideally facing out through a window. (But this is somewhat dependant on where your antenna is and where the broadcasting tower signal is eminating from.)

Please try again later.Using an antenna in the basement will depend on your location, how far away you are from the towers, the building materials of your home and some other factors. If it is possible to place the antenna in a basement window, it would definitely help. I personally have an antenna in my basement, but we are within 10 miles of the TV towers and the frequencies coming from the towers are high-power.
