• Yes, you can use whatever length you wish to use. No difference in reception. They only give you 16 feet to help our if you need to reach a different wall . So go ahead and attach a shorter cable if you need to.

• Yes you can use a shorter cable. I actually used a longer cable and hide the antenna above my ceiling

• Yes you can use a shorter cable, I originally was using a shorter cable. I am now using about 75 feet of cable with no issues.
