1, See my other answer as to how to point this antenna. 2, Plastic screen is ok. Metal screen may cause some signal loss. It depends if the metal screen is grounded (kills the signal, see RFI screen room) or if there is another way for the TV signal can get in the room. Best way is to test it and fined out.

I think you could use that puffy tape to hold it to screen- not sure if it's water resistant or not. It is plastic feeling- The reception is great! I imagine the tv broadcasting is on the Sears tower about 5 miles from me, this may have a factor.
