• Only if you need to use the amplifier. The antenna works well on its own in an urban area not far from where signals are broadcast

• Hi fatalbert, the community answer is correct! Setup is easier if you can use a USB port on your TV, however you do not need to use the USB port. The USB cable is about 6 feet long, so you can use a USB power adapter (not included) to connect the amplifier to a wall outlet. Thank you for sending us a message!

• Set up is easier with the USB port on your tv, but I believe the instructions with the antenna advise how to set it up without one.

• If you need to use the amplified signal feature, a USB power source is needed. That can come from your television or a separate source.
