This is a nice basic antenna. It is not amplified. Depending upon how close you are to your local stations broadcast towers, you might need a better one or an amplified one. Also, be sure that your TV has a tuner circuit built in. Many of the new TVs are just monitors and rely on your set top box to act as the tuner.

Will show you which stations and how far away their antennas can pick up the signal. You may actually get more channels, depending on how recently the site was updated. I am a low tech person, so someone with more sophisticated tech know-how will know about other brands.
