Q: QuestionDoes this work on a Samsung Smart TV?

• A:Answer Not so fast community answer people! As long as the tv that you have has a coaxial port and a digital tuner you are in business. However many of the newer "smart" TV's on the market are being made with no coaxial port and/or no digital tuner. This trend is because many people have discovered the joys of streaming content either through their new "smart" TV or using a streaming device so who needs a coaxial port or digital tuner? Well...people that use antennas do! All's not lost. In order to use a TV missing the needed elements you can purchase a digital converter box. This allows you to connect your antenna to the television AND they have built in tuners also. A digital converter box connects to your TV via HDMI or other means (make sure you know which connection you need before you buy) and allows the TV to receive digital TV signals. A digital converter box is a one-time purchase with no monthly fees. One converter box is necessary for every TV that doesn't have a built-in digital tuner and that receives its signal over the air with an antenna.

• A:Answer This is a nice basic antenna. It is not amplified. Depending upon how close you are to your local stations broadcast towers, you might need a better one or an amplified one. Also, be sure that your TV has a tuner circuit built in. Many of the new TVs are just monitors and rely on your set top box to act as the tuner.

• A:Answer Antennas tend to work best in a metro area! Google "what channels can I get with an OTA antenna" and select a site that will allow you to enter in your complete address for a channel scan to see what you can expect.

• A:Answer If you are in a good area for reception all you need to do is connect your antenna to your tv, hang it on a wall or in a window and run the channel scan on your tv to see just what channels you can get.

Q: QuestionI'm getting rid of cable and would like to know whether 1 antenna will work for multiple TVs in the home or should 1 antenna be used for each TV to get channels. Thanks.

• A:Answer You might also use a splitter unit available in most stores. If you've had cable installed, you can use the antenna on the main TV, then attatch the cable runs out to other TV's. The splitter box will give you the option as to how many TV's you can service/supply.

Q: QuestionCan it help pull in FM radio signals too?My late 80's Pioneer receiver usually can only get 2 strong signals, 1 mile and 14 miles away. I want signals that are in the 50-70 mile range. Hills, forest for 20 miles, then flat for the other 50 miles. All cars here can get them perfectly, so weak tower signals aren't the problem.

• A:Answer Yes this antenna can pull FM stations. My Onkyo received wouldn't receive any radio stations until I hooked up this antenna. Now I receive most stations and they are very clear.

• A:Answer Not if the main tower for reception is not with in 20 miles? The antenna did not work for me at all! I might need to place it outside on top of the house to work? But I really need one that can get a signal from 25 miles or so out, the price was right, but it did not work for me, I’ll sell it to you for half price if you want to try it? If you are in the Philippines shipping will absorb the rest of the cost.

• A:Answer It does not pick up internet but It does a great job picking up OTA (over the air) TV stations once you find a mounting location with a strong signal. We had to try a couple different locations before we found one with a consistently strong signal. Thought it would be better by a window but turned out the wall that was kitty corner from the window was better. We are about 20 miles from broadcasting stations and we are able to get an amazing 50+ chanel’s. You can go to their website and you can enter your address to find out how many stations you should be able to get.

Q: QuestionHow many miles can I get with this antenna ? I 35 with my old one and picking up 60 Chanel's but not all the time. It loses signal a lot. Any suggestions has to be a in door. My zip is 33901

• A:Answer The Leaf Metro has a 25 mile digital UHF range and a 10 mile digital VHF range. You could add an amplifier to the antenna. That would give you 20 more UHF miles and 10 additional VHF miles. There are a couple VHF stations in your area and that would help stabilize the signal.

• A:Answer We suggest that you try the antenna in several locations to see where you get the best reception. In our office here at Mohu we have no windows and we found that out antenna works best when laid flay on the top of a wooden bookcase. It is all about where the signals are best able to "land" on the antenna so try a few spots!

• A:Answer Unfortunately customers that live very close to airports do tend to have disruption issues. Airplanes break up your signals as they come and go and there is nothing on the market that can correct or keep that from occurring. The planes act as moving metal barriers that block the signals when they pass through the signal stream.

• A:Answer Based on the zip code alone there is a chance that the reception is good in the area but I think you'd need an amplified antenna such as the Leaf 50 based on the distance from the towers for a few of the stations. You can visit https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps to know the channels available for your zipcode

• A:Answer As long as the television was made prior to 2009 and has a digital (ATSC) tuner built in it should work with an antenna. With the Leaf Metro you need to be within 25 miles of the towers to have reception success.

Q: QuestionI recently put a Roku stick on my Samsung smart tv, but when I go to the tv apps, the tv often won’t connect to wifi, despite strong signal and other devices being able to connect. Prior to putting on the Roku stick, I never had this problem. Solutions?
