How do I get local channels on my TV null

If you are in a good area for reception all you need to do is connect your antenna to your tv, hang it on a wall or in a window and run the channel scan on your tv to see just what channels you can get.

Simply install the antenna as instructed. Once installed, use your tv's programming settings to broadcast "air". Don't use cable. Once you have selected air as your antenna setting, allow your tv to scan. It will list (according to your tv) all the channels it has acquired. You can and should continuously reposition the antenna and rescan until you receive your desired results. (I personally used suction cups to mount the antenna on walls, windows, etc. This allowed me endless possibilities for mounting and moving the antenna.)
