Antennas tend to work best in a metro area! Google "what channels can I get with an OTA antenna" and select a site that will allow you to enter in your complete address for a channel scan to see what you can expect.

Yes. I live in a very large city and my reception went from poor (with rabbit ears) to very good, although not perfect. Depending on the channel and the weather, I still experience short drop outs.
