As long as your TV has a digital tuner built in you do not need a converter box. Most tv's made prior to 2009 already have the tuner. You can reach out to the maker of your tv or reference your owner's manual to be sure. AND you can use a little more coaxial but we do not recomend more than 25 additional feet (or less) for the Metro. The more coaxial that you add the more signal loss you may expect. Less is more!
