Buy it and try it. My experience in an ideal location (line of sight below Mt. Wilson, California) is that one of these types of antennas gets most stations, while a similar one gets the others. Some passing cars will perturb reception briefly (a few seconds). aircraft for longer (1-2 minute) intervals.. Buying a cheap second TV allows me to watch any OTA signal output, and luckily the high-res. big screen gets all the sports I want to watch, Buying a second antenna and cheap second TV isn't the perfect solution as advertised on UHF television commercials, but it's much cheaper than the swindling cable companies even in a short (three-month?) run.
