Product Manuals

Q: What is "refurbed" about these antenna. Is there a particular part that has been replaced after it was returned to you?

A: We know that our product works really, really well for some customers and just will not work at all for others based on their location. In many instances people will purchase an antenna without making sure that they are in a good location to pull in over the air signals first. They try the antenna, see it won't work, call us and we tell them that they are in bad location for signals and have them return it. Once we get it back we open the package, clean the antenna (if necessary) and always test the antenna to ensure that it is 100% functional, repackage it and sell it as "Open Box" or "Refurbished" at a discount. These antennas have the exact same warranty, guarantee and returns policy as a brand new antenna. Since they are not "new" we can't sell them as such but it is a shame for a perfectly good antenna to get discarded when it was never truly used and that performs exactly like a new one that hasn't been opened. Instead we opt to pass the savings along by discounting them!

Q: Does it have to be put in a window or will it work on a wall? both my TVs are located near the center of the house.

A: Antennas tend to work their best when they are on a wall or window that faces the direction of the towers but you may find that the signal strength is such in your area that it works fine where you need to put it! Give it a try and return it if it doesn't work for you.

Q: what is the range?

A: 30 miles UHF and 10 miles VHF if you are in a good location for reception.

Q: What is the local channels range pick up

A: Our house is just under 30 miles from Mt. Wilson (Los Angeles), where the TV transmitters are located. We have a good line-of-sight location. The antenna is fastened onto a window near the TV set. The reception is very good---better than Dish Networks' standard picture and virtually as good as Dish's HD picture. Each channel displays the signal strength---mostly about 68%. We receive all four networks, two independents plus two or three PBS channels. On a windy day, sometimes the signal goes out for a few seconds and then returns. This seems strange, since the antenna is inside the house and is not affected by wind. We can record programs on our DVR but are limited to a recording a single channel at a time. I'd say give the OTA antenna a try. Installation is a no-brainer and you will know immediately if it works for you.

Q: How do I know if I’m in a good area for the Antenna

A: Buy it and try it. My experience in an ideal location (line of sight below Mt. Wilson, California) is that one of these types of antennas gets most stations, while a similar one gets the others. Some passing cars will perturb reception briefly (a few seconds). aircraft for longer (1-2 minute) intervals.. Buying a cheap second TV allows me to watch any OTA signal output, and luckily the high-res. big screen gets all the sports I want to watch, Buying a second antenna and cheap second TV isn't the perfect solution as advertised on UHF television commercials, but it's much cheaper than the swindling cable companies even in a short (three-month?) run.

Q: Looking to get rid of cable.. I live in southern Maine. Is this a good antenna for my area,?

A: Where you are located will determine what channels are available in your area. You can click on this link to see the available TV channels are https://www.gomohu.com/tv-for-free-front/ or call us at 877-825-5572 and will will make a recommendation for an antenna that will work the best for your location. Thank you for your time!
