Yes being near a window gives you improved access to the digital broadcasts as walls, roof and masonry can block signals.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have two of these antennas, one mounted on an exterior wall and one mounted on an interior wall. They both perform great
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can mount on wall it depends on interference and distance of towers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This highly depends on the strength of the signal you are receiving. I have mine mounted on the wall behind my TV. But, I have good signal where my house is. What I would do is go to antennaweb dot org, type in your address, and if they say you need "Yellow" antenna, this should work. Yellow is the weakest antenna. If you need something stronger, you may want a larger mohu. I also have a Mohu extreme that I have mounted on a wall, and I split it off to many different TVs in my house so I need stronger reception.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows are GREAT locations for the best chance at reception since they give the antenna a clear line of sight to the towers but try the antenna in several spots until you find the one spot that yields the best reception results.
