“Can the joints on the arm be locked in place to prevent movement of the screen once I have it in the position I want?”

• No but you can tighten them. I have no reason to move mine so I don’t know if it would get slack as it was worked

• I don't believe you can lock them but you can tighten them down so they aren't able to move.
