Yes it will charge Garmin devices

Anything you can connect to it through USB should be able to be charged. However, I believe (based on limited experience) that if the device you're charging goes into a power saving off mode then the battery will also turn off and stop charging it. I recommend taking advantage of Best Buy's return policy (14 days is the base level) and try it out to get your full answer.
