The first two Booms I ever bought broke at that same area. I still thought it was the best of the headsets so I bought another. I just had to teach myself to be more gentle with it. As active as I am that's not easy. This latest model has been knocked out of my ear by me more than I'd like to admit. So far so good is all I can tell you right now. I have learned to grip it and close it one way every time. Out of everything about this headset that is its only weak point. The connection looks a little thicker to me but I no longer have my old headset due to loosing it. I think it is still the best one for the money though. Have a great day!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't worry as much about the boom as I would the ear loop... They break at the pivot. I fold mine over to protect it. I don't think you can get a good answer on the flip till a few do get broken... Moto has been aware of the issue across several models and has been slow to respond but it "looks" the part now at least... My old ones that broke were less sturdy on the side that broke and now they appear to me to be sturdy on both sides. You are reading that right, for whatever reason the 2 sides were different. Hands down these units are the least intrusive I have ever worn so i continue to buy them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did have a couple of the originals break. The BOOM2 feels more solid, but I've only had them for a few weeks. The jury's still out!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I only have it a short time but the flip mike seems strong enough
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I am not careful how I store it, I even throw in the bottom of my purse under my wallet.
