“Will my Motorola Droid Turbo 4G work in South Africa? Do I have to buy a data package in order to avoid skyrocketing costs? Do I need a sim card? I will be traveling in South Africa for a month. I will fly into Johannesburg and out of Cape Town. Will be driving south from Hoedspruit to St. Lucia and on to Durban. During this time, I will be in areas that have Wi-fi service (hotels, airbnb, lodges etc.) so, I don't really need internet included. However, I want to make sure that I have the capability of phoning or texting whilst in the country. My phone is USA based and has a navigation system available with USA maps. I would also like to be able to use this for South Africa without it being insanely expensive. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.”
