Hello, The Lux64CONNECT is a WiFi-connected model. It means you can use the camera with the app, however, to use it with just the parent unit, no WiFi or app is required. However, please keep in mind that being this a WiFi-connected device, it's necessary to have the camera set up to the app and online from time to time to receive updates and enjoy the best performance.
