Have had this modem for a few months now. It is an excellent modem. We also have Mediacom and are running 26 devices in our house. It does not heat up as much as our old modem and is very well made. Not sure what equipment you have from Mediacom but you will need a separate router. I had to call Mediacom when I was setting up the new modem to let them know what modem I was going to use. They then got me connected to the new modem.
