• There is no battery, however in the directions it states how you can purchase one. The lights in the front are to let you know if the modem is receiving signals. You have separate lights for telephone line 1 and 2, receiving and sending lights as well.

• The symbols on the front reflect what is attached in the back. Also the ban width option of 2 GB or 5 GB and if the internet is up. Note there is no battery backup on this unit
