Hi James, If you are an Xfinity customer, you'll need this Motorola Model MT7711 modem with router and phone jack. It's a wonderful device and it had functions for TV, Internet, and phone. I owned one, and I'm very happy with it. Good luck to you!

I have had mine for several weeks now and couldn't be happier with it. The range and strong signal far surpass the modem and router setup that this gateway modem replaced. I think you'll love it as much as I do.

The cable company is sending Modulated frequencies, which has all the frequencies for cable TV, Internet and phone which on cable is VOIP Voice Over Internet Protocol from the cable company and is put into the cable and carried to your your home. At your home the set top box on your TV Demodulates the TV frequencies to the channels you select on your TV. Hence the word MODEM. Modulation/Demodulation. I don’t know of an all in one modem solution for TV, Internet, WiFi and phone. I’ve only seen them given on separate modems. One modem for each service. On most occasions the cable set top box will have a RJ45 Connection for a cable connection for Internet to your computer. Which requires a MAC address so the cable company knows what services to charge you for.. Just because you have a modem or purchased a modem for a particular service, phone, Internet, cable TV and WiFi doesn’t mean it’s going to work because you plugged everything in and turned it on. You still have to call the cable company and give them the MAC address on the bottom of the modem so they can turn on the service for that device. That’s how they know what to charge you as their customer. If you don’t pay your bill they turn off your MAC address electronically even though all your equipment is plugged in, it won’t work. Hope this helps.
