This is not compatible with COX per Motorola. However, you could call them and ask. Now to answer a large home question, depends on the environment and placement of the unit. Personally, in my large home, I run a wired mesh setup on all floors and one for good measure out on the deck. Yes its over kill and technically slows up my paid internet speed (by about 200MBPS, still getting almost 1 GIGABIT) but i have absolutely 0 dead spots.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This might work for Cox Cable but not for Voice (telephone). It will only work the phone on Comcast. As far as range goes. We only have about a 50' reach. Could be operator error on our part. But we have troubleshooted for days without resolution on increase the range.
