“My desk has a support beam about 1/2" inwards from the edge of my desk, which then is an additional 3/4". Will I need to worry about the mount clearing that 1.25" to mount to the bottom of the actual desk top, rather than partially on the support beam?”

Dear Customer, both the clamp and grommet installation options need to make full contact with a flat surface whether its the support beam or the table top. If the is not enough surface to support the weight of the mount plus the monitors it might result in damage.
