A:AnswerThe app itself is necessary for a lot of the settings. But if you don't mind them the way they are, there is no reason you can't just use it with any other app on your phone. Mostly the app gives you the ability to do some of the fancier functions, like tracking, and the zoom wheel. The Android app is far glitchier than the iPhone app, from what I understand. And I am Android, so I opted to use another video app while using this gimbal.
But the gimbal itself is pretty slick. Most important feature to me is the double click on the (left of?) the wheel that locks it looking in one direction, so you can walk into frame, and it feels like a tripod shot.
A:AnswerNo, this will not. I read reviews it did, but trying it out it is simply not strong enough to consistently balance it, and it flops over and fails for me.
A:AnswerLook at the weight of the 11 pro max. I tried this with a 12 pro max and it does not work. If the 11 pro max is about the same weight, stay away.
