It will only work with Bluetooth technology, and is automatically disabled if you choose to listen to audio via the 3.5mm cable. That said, I found the over-the-ear design very good at blocking loud ambient noise. The loud ambient noise isn’t completely eliminated, but the drop is significant. Indeed, I was able to monitor my video camera’s audio in a very loud DJ environment.
