The basket that holds the grounds and filter is hinged (for lack of a better will word) on the left. With the basket open, lift up a bit and it will come loose at the bottom.....gently pull toward you and down....it will loosen at the top and id not confusing!s then removable. Hope this is clear and not confusing.
