“Since there is no shut off button, should we assume it's safe to leave the empty carafe on the warmer? Don't want to reset clock everytime i unplug it but am shocked there's no off button.”

The "off" button is the "brew now" button. As soon as you press it, the warmer timer shuts off, and the plate warmer turns off.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I totally hear you, thought the same. Found out that if the maker is on & you push the "on" button just once, it will shut off. Says nothing about this in the instructions either. Remember, if machine is on, push the on button once & you will see the button light go out as machine is now off.
