That is a great question. This is a hard one to answer though, regardless of the band. I had laptops that lasted 3 month and others that I have had for well over 4 years. My oldest is the Toshiba Libretto 70CT from 1997 and it is still running. It really depends on the way your care about it. My rule of thumb, if the laptop has no issues after frequent use for about 2-3 month after purchase, you got yourself a good one that should last you a long time. Keep it away from humidity, heat and unnecessary impact and you should have a long lasting laptop. I recommend to get the three year service plan Best Buy offers for this unit. I paid $169 for a $1799 computer (when I bought it), I think this is more than reasonable. At this point I have a laptop that will work for a guaranteed three years. If they can't fix it, I get a new one for the same price I paid when I purchased it. Most my laptops lasted at least 4+ years. This being my first MSI I didn't want to take a gamble, especially at that price range.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This computer is built like a tank. I wouldn't be surprised if you got 5 years out of it.
