First of all, opening it to upgrade RAM or SSD will not void MSI warranty. Also in the US, there is "right to repair" law that make voiding warranty upon opening illegal. With that said, the Best Buy model (037) already comes with two 8GB SODIMM memory sticks and therefore already dual channel memory. If you want to upgrade to 32GB, you'll need to replace both. There is a great video on YouTube titled "MSI GS65 Teardown" that shows you step by step. it removes all guessing game for a straightforward DIY project.

There is a "Factory Seal" sticker on one of the screws on the bottom of the laptop, but the FTC has deemed that those stickers are an illegal practice and has begun fining companies for using them. Unless you do obvious damage to the internal components, your warranty should remain intact. However, removing the CPU/GPU heatsink to apply new paste, for example, will void your warranty. I believe the limitations of the warranty prevent you from performing anything outside of routine upgrades (RAM, hard drives).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The motherboard is flipped, but all previous GS6x models were as well I believe. The unit I received had 2 8GB sticks running in Dual Channel. As long as you don't damage anything while changing out parts in your laptop MSI will not void your warranty. However, they will not warranty any of your aftermarket parts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO it will NOT void your warranty. "Void if removed" stickers on physical products (even electronics) are illegal in the US (have been for decades), and finally some attorney generals are 'getting around to' dealing with this. So if any company every tries to say that they are legal, then you just need to tell them you know better and if they still stick to their guns, you can call your state's attorney general and/or a lawyer and MAKE BANK.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Removing the bottom panel and motherboard will not void the warranty. You are free to disassemble and upgrade as you wish. However, MSI is not required to honor the warranty if it is found that the cause of the damage stems from disassembling the unit. This model already comes equipped with 2 x 8GB SODIMMS in dual channel, so you will not need to upgrade them unless you plan to swap for 2 x 16GB.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m sure if they find some flaw in reassembly they would blame you and void the warranty
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.More than likely, yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As the youtube videos you can watch say, disassembling this laptop to upgrade the memory is not for an amateur. I recommend paying the Geek Squad to do it for you - if they break it, they will replace it - worth the money.
