hello leroy - this system comes with the MSI PRO B650-VC WIFI II motherboard. This board does support the AM5 socket. Here is a link to the MSI site that lists all of the compatible CPUs. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650-VC-WIFI-II/support#cpu
