By Zone....you can make all the zones the same color or different colors. There are 3 zones. There is a "gaming" option that only lights up the left side of the keyboard (I guess to emphasize those keys used in gaming...but it's the whole zone and not individual keys such as WASD.

Please try again later.I found the controls for the keyboard backlights in the MSI Dragon Center LED Wizard to control three sections and you can change the color of each section or make all three sections the same color. You can also change the brightness. There are also modes to let the lights pulse and flash and such.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't figured it out yet, but looks like it is by zone, and you can program three different zones with multiple colors for each zone. I mostly have it hooked to a monitor and external keyboard so haven't played with it.
