No, but it may depend on the manufacture date. I bought 1 from Micro Center with a 9800x3d and it booted just fine. The only thing to be weary of is that it may not see some nvme drives in m.2_1. I tried to put in a 990pro 4tb into that slot and it can't see it. I have read that other older drives will read in that slot but that is the only gen 5 m.2 slot so that defeats the idea. If your going for a gen 5 m.2 in your board it doesn't work as of 11/2024.
