is your gpu capable of 120-144hz? a common misconception of buyers of 144hz monitors is that it will display 144hz regardless of their pc's capabilities. if your graphics card isn't capable of 144hz, the monitor will not display such. although, this shouldn't be causing a loss of signal. make sure your cable connections are secure. it could also be possible you have an old hdmi cable incapable of handling 144hz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Both your laptop and the cable you've used will need to conform to at least HDMI 1.4 specs in order to display that refresh rate. If possible, I'd try to use DisplayPort over HDMI, as it has far better support for both Freesync and high refresh rates.
