“In the Description it says the monitor is wall mountable. In the packaging the wall mount plate/kit is “optional”. Is there instructions on how to properly mount it or do I need to purchase a plate to screw it to a mount.”

TLDR: no wall mount in the box but the ability to use a mount with it from the factory it has 4 machine screws in the back where the base mounts from, you take those screws out you put in the standoffs (picture below) from there it's a standard VESA mount which you can use to attach to pretty much any monitor stand or mount.
