“ok it says the 12900H processor has 8 cores but according to Intel this processor has 14. Which is 8 efficient cores and 6 performance cores. So why in the specs does it say 8”

The listing format does not allow for separation between P and E cores. The CPU does indeed have 14 total cores, but the listing allows us to only mention one set of cores.
