• It has a battery but can run while plugged into the charger. The battery doesn't last more than two hours probably because of the power that it takes to run the screen.

• It works on both the built in battery and AC when the charger is connected. Battery live is O.K., but be sure you power it down when not in use and not just turn it off which leaves it in a sleep mode, otherwise the battery will run down next time you want to use it.
