It has about a 1.5gb update.

It's fully on the cart. Like any other cart though it saves onto your switch/the cloud. If there's any updates then those will download onto your switch as well but as of now it's just straight from cart to play, no update download or anything.

You can insert the card and it says start software and u just press start and it loads the game in about a minute and its ready to go

I dont think any downloads are required, full game is on the chip.
