I don't have 2 Chromecast devices to try it out, but the nest mini basically can stream the same music services as a chromecast device. The Google nest mini will support playing music on other Google speakers on the same wifi network. It can transfer music to a speaker in another room or play the music on all speakers in the on the same wifi network configured inside the Google Home app. I have 2 minis in different rooms in my home and it works perfectly transferring music to different rooms.
