Not sure what you mean by "broken". If a deadbolt lock is truly "broken", then it doesn't matter whether it has a key or not, it won't work. If instead you mean dead batteries, then that has already been answered: there is a way to give it temporary power via a 9V.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If the lock were to stop working, there wouldn't be a way to unlock it, unless you found a way to get inside to turn the knob. It does warn you when the batteries are low, and if you ignore that, it will let you use a 9V battery to put on the bottom to unlock it. I've had mine for 5 years now, and I've never had it stop working, I actually just bought another for my back door I love it so much. I would imagine it wouldn't just break, it would probably give you signs, but there is always a lemon.
