• Living in Arizona with the extreme heat I would be cautious of that. I suppose look up the manufacture Temp ratings and check.

• Yes all your cables should be plugged into the switch including your upstream connection. It will auto sense your upstream cable. Just make sure you don’t have any circular connections (where two devices connected to the switch are also connected to each other separately) and you will be fine
