• I have an Arris Surfboard Modem Model SB8200 and a Linksys - Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Router. I bought this Netgear GS205 5-PORT GIGABIT SWITCH and placed it between the Modem and the Router.

• I hooked mine from the cable modem. From there I ran a line to my wifi and my pc. Both on separate lines. The netgear switch automatically figured out which line was the input and which 2 were the outgoing. I hope this helped. BTW, choosing a nickname is soooooooooo stupid. I almost canceled out this review.
