It must be in the connection between your modem and router doesn't sound like the router if it works by going directly to it

That is because you have problems only when using your wifi router, not when connecting to your modem directly. That is important information! Good catch. Sometimes you will have addressing issues when you have several devices on your network at the same time. I have experienced this myself. I am not familiar with your router or its admin access pages to check your LAN ip addressing. You may have a situation, where two devices have been assigned the same address. Older routers had this issue more often. Have a tech savvy friend, that you trust!, help you out. That person will need to get into your modem control panel from your network. Good luck. It was frustrating for me too.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not an expert by any measure. What you said, is "losing packages", I am guessing from wireless internet?? Is your nighthawk a modem and router combination? I use a modem and a separate router. The router is for wireless and I have 4 Ethernet ports. If you are using a combo, modem/router, then it may not be configured correctly. If TWC set it up, they will fix it. If you did, you need to go on line and make sure all configurations are done correctly. If you are still having problems, your modem may be "bad", but you have a little work to do before I would say it is. Good luck and I wish you success.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to log into the router and set QoS prioritization. The modem may also have a setting required for optimal speed. I am on cox and they had to add an access code to the modem for the top speed. The router is most likely your access issue though.
