“Will this modem work , if internet is with a phone company an not a cable service ?”

• Unfortunately it will not. Phone companies use DSL which comes in through a phone line.

• Short answer: No This is a modem for data communication via coaxial cable (round cable that connects to tvs and cable service boxes), not the flat 4 wire phone line cable that has a plastic square connector. The second type cable is for DSL internet service and requires a completely different modem. They do not work the same way. Sorry.

• It should work with no problems as far as I know everyone uses the same type of connectors
