Yes on most routers you can affect the WIFI feature , put in some ridiculously long password for the WIFI , disable guest wifi, Hide the SSID name of the WIFI Turn off 5ghz . Router uses the same electricity with WIFI or without WIFI. If you have a COMBO Modem / router from your provider and need more wired connections , buy a 5 port Giga switch instead and hook it to the Provider combo modem/router then add wires to your devices , eliminate the WIFI altogether. 5 port switches are cheaper than router .. NOTE : Make sure you have a Combo Modem router before you buy a switch. A switch will only work if there is a device that is capable of issuing network addresses (DHCP) which is what a router does and provides the NAT to translate your laptop (example ) network address in your home to the provider network address on the other side of your modem/.router.
