No. Your internet speed will be unchanged. However, you will be able to use WiFi to transfer files from one computer to another in your house or watch HD videos recorded on one computer on another computer in your house. You may also have WiFi security cameras or baby monitors you want to watch on your PC while you are home and this will handle the higher data rate required.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The only way to increase your Internet speed is to pay for it. Adding a router (or replacing a DSL or cable modem with a 3rd-party device) isn't going to increase your Internet download speed. I suggest talking to your provider about other packages that they may have.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, even wireless N is typically faster than "Broadband" speeds... The AC1200 routers will operate faster and bit better range than A/B/G. On a 1Mbps line it's like having a 6 lane Interstate highway for 10 cars. Where you would benefit is signal strength and available bandwidth. If "Controlled Box" means one from your internet provider, I haven't seen one with Wireless AC in them, so it should be an upgrade.
