QuestionWhat is the best wireless router out there at an affordable price?I have a 10+ yr old router and when watching Netflix it reconnects very frequently and becomes very annoying. We have an ipad, 2 iphones, a kindle, a laptop and a Blu-ray player that we use to access Netflix. When I called Bright House they told me to look for N or G but not sure how this NETGEAR - AC1200 compares. I has good reviews. Thanks for your help!

- Answer The AC1200 router appears to be N- and G-compatible. It's hard to go wrong with Netgear; I've always had good results with their equipment.

Questioncan a slow internet feed go faster? or is that wishful thinking!in other words , can i make a slow feed like 1mbps...go faster! like an upgrade from a controlled box to a faster one like this?

- Answer No. Your internet speed will be unchanged. However, you will be able to use WiFi to transfer files from one computer to another in your house or watch HD videos recorded on one computer on another computer in your house. You may also have WiFi security cameras or baby monitors you want to watch on your PC while you are home and this will handle the higher data rate required.

- Answer Routers work best if installed in the highest of the locations. Definitely somewhere on the upper floor. Front or back shouldn't make a difference, though middle would be best.

- Answer I would expect so, yes. I've used this with Arris modems and had no problems. Not the CM820 specifically, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work - those modems are simply passthrough devices that do no routing. You'd have to change settings on a DSL modem to turn it into a bridge, but cable modems simply pass Internet traffic through.

- Answer Well, like anything, how much do you want to spend? The top Netgear Nighhawk routers are awesome, but they cost more. Since you are asking, I assume you are looking for something in the middle, the best performance vs. price. If that is the case, as of the time of this posting, I would suggest you consider the Netgear R6250 model. Overall, any new Netgear router with the AC standard should be a nice improvement for you.

- Answer This router has improved my speeds. My iPad on the speed test was 27.13 mpbs download and now I am getting around 93.14 mpbs download speeds on the speed test.

QuestionQuestions before I buy...Hello, so I am seriously considering purchasing this router but I want to clarify and make sure of a few things first. First of all, I currently have one router in my house. It's an AT&T router and it's located in my living room, even though we pay for the highest speed it still sucks. My plan is to buy this router and place it in my room for the use of my devices which are; 2 laptops, 2 PS4's, 2 iPhones, 1 DS and 1 Xbox 360. I have 3 questions concerning the fact that I have an AT&T router. 1. will I need to connect this router to the one I already have. 2. will I need to hook this up with my internet provider or can I just take it to my room, plug it in to the phone jack and have internet? and 3, can I have 2 routers in the same house? Those are my first set of questions, my other regard how well this router works and other questions. 1, will this router support the devices listed above not just one at a time but multiple at a time. 2, if you've purchased it how often if at all do you have to restart or reset it? and 3, how fast is the download speed? I think that's all of now hopefully some of my 'essay' get's answered soon haha. Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully take the time to answer some of it.

- Answer I would suggest looking into the Apple Airport Extreme. I bought it for $188 at BB. If you have Apple products like you say, it seems very stable. So, (1) depending on the size of your house, you may only need one router if it is powerful enough. (2) if you are not replacing your modem, you do not need to contact your service provider (3) you can have two or more routers if you link them. Here is my review: I compared this router to others from Asus (AC1900) and Netgear (Nighthawk 3 antenna) that were similar in price. Checked reviews online from PC Mag and Cnet, etc. My old router (Linksys WRT160N) did not have the range and signal strength needed to conduct heavy broadband use for my work laptop while on digital conference calls (and kids on devices). The Apple Airport Extreme reaches every area of my home (including the basement), and is powerful enough to support streaming movies, work needs and kids online all simultaneously using Comcast Performance Internet (25kbps). Looks nice and is very stable (no loss of signal or resets needed that were so frequent with the other router). Very pleased and highly recommend.
