“I have access in my apartment to a free xfinity wifi but the signal is strong in the kitchen but it's low in the living room. I obviously do NOT have access to the wireless router but will this help extend the wifi to the living room and make it stronger?”

Don't think so. You would need an extender for that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The antenna on this is very good compared to lower end wifi dongles. I was able to connect to my router with much better signal strength with this. It could very well turn a weak signal in to an acceptable one for you.
